Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The COVID-19 pandemic is being treated extremely seriously by Whitchurch Bowls Club.  Most of our members and friends of the club will be self-isolating and hopefully have family support when required.

Where members or friends of the club have difficulties in any way the Club has a group of volunteers who have kindly offered to do some essential shopping or pick up prescriptions etc.

This is being co-ordinated by our secretary Tony Atherton who can be contacted on 07768 925 406 or by e-mail on tony.athertons1@gmail.com

The Club

Welcome to Whitchurch Bowls Club situated in North Cardiff.

We are a friendly, well established Club with approximately 100 members, both Playing and Social, and with a membership ranging from 8 years of age to 80 plus.

Established in 1924 the Club forms part of the Welsh Private Greens Bowling Association and is affiliated to, amongst others, the Welsh Bowling Association, the County of South Glamorgan Bowling Association and the Welsh Women’s Bowling Association.

The Club prides itself on having one of the best professionally- maintained Bowling Greens in the area cared for on a day-to-day basis by a group of dedicated enthusiasts from the membership. There is a well-stocked bar, moderately priced for members, set within a modern clubhouse with a pleasant lounge ideal for social events and everyday use. Added together these provide the scope for an excellent range of activities which include BBQ’s, Quiz Nights and Xmas functions.

New members are made very welcome whether experienced bowlers or newcomers to the game. Newcomers can benefit from free Coaching sessions which are available on Friday evenings at 5pm during the playing season which runs from mid-April to mid-September. If you are interested contact the Club Secretary whose details are shown on this page.

The Club is available for Private Hire and details are found on the website.
